About Cardioamigos Foundation
The Cardioamigos Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to life-saving cardiovascular care for underserved communities across Latin America. By bringing together volunteer cardiovascular medical teams from the United States to collaborate with local physicians and healthcare institutions, the Foundation provides specialized heart surgeries and advanced cardiac care to children and adults who would otherwise have limited access to treatment. The organization builds upon the legacy of Fundación Cardioamigos de Venezuela, a humanitarian initiative with more than three decades of service that has helped save the lives of thousands of patients in need, extending that mission through international collaboration and sustainable medical education.

The World’s Leading Cause of Death
Cardiovascular diseases claim more than 20 million lives every year, representing around the 30% of all global deaths and Latin-American as well.
While many of these conditions are treatable, access to specialized cardiovascular surgery remains limited in many regions of Latin America.
For thousands of patients and families, the barrier is not diagnosis — it is access.
Long waiting lists, limited resources, and high medical costs often make life-saving treatment unattainable. This gap is where Cardioamigos steps in.
Why Cardioamigos Matters
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the most pressing health challenges in Latin America, where many patients—especially children with congenital heart conditions—still lack access to specialized surgical care. Supporting the Cardioamigos Foundation helps address this urgent need, providing life-saving treatments while strengthening local healthcare systems for long-term impact.
Building on the successful legacy of Fundación Cardioamigos de Venezuela, our volunteer medical specialists are directly involved in performing surgeries and leading training programs with local healthcare teams. This hands-on approach ensures transparency, maximizes the impact of every donation, and fosters sustainable improvements in cardiovascular care throughout the region.
